Here you can find all the information about “Granting editor rights” to your social media channel. If you do not wish to grant us this, you can find information about our alternative solutions here.

When.

Please give us access in a timely manner. At the latest approx. 14 days before the event.

How?

Here you can find the instructions sorted by platform:

Why?

a) Simplicity: We want to keep the work as simple as possible for you and for us. Setting up and configuring livestreams can be difficult on the various portals. Many customers make mistakes in the process. It is therefore easier for us to do this work for you than to explain the process to you in all its details.

b) Tests: We always have to test in advance whether our livestream actually reaches the respective platform. We can only do that if we actually have access. Theoretically, we could also do this with you. However, this costs additional time in the coordination and is often simply no longer possible in terms of time.

c) Security: If you add us as an editor on your site, you no longer need to send us your passwords. We log in with our own account instead. You can revoke our access after the event without having to change your password internally.

d) Response speed: If – which we hope is not the case – the livestream does break off, many platforms quickly end the livestream. If we have the access ourselves, we can react quickly if necessary and recreate the event and do not have to wait for you first. With editor rights, we can restart a new livestream in about 10 seconds. Without editor rights, the process can take up to 20 minutes in voting – while the event is running.

e) Start & end livestream: For many platforms, the livestream must be started and ended manually. This can be easily forgotten in the hustle and bustle of an event or can be a problem if the person in charge is not on site. If we have the access, we will do it for you.

e) Inform virtual spectators: If there is a problem in the program flow (e.g. speaker:in is late, start is delayed), we can inform the waiting spectators on your behalf.

f) Embed viewer comments directly: With a direct editor’s right, we can visually embed individual comments of your viewers directly into the livestream, incl. Photo and username of the sender.

Data security: Is it dangerous to give us editor’s rights?

As a company and social media agency, we have had access to many social media accounts of federal agencies, governments, foundations and associations since 2015. We never abuse this trust. All of our computers are encrypted, up to date and all of our social media accounts are secured via 2-factor authentications.

If it does not work despite everything: 50 € surcharge

If you insist on setting up the livestream yourself, we will charge a fee of €50 for the extra work on our end. Learn more about the alternatives here.
